The Largest Buddhist Temple in the World ....

is Wat Phra Dhammakaya - the home of the controversial Thai Buddhist sect and is located 16 km north of the Thailand's old international airport Dom Mueng - just outside of Bangkok and covers over 1000 acres. The central golden dome or stupa resembles an classic UFO flying saucer shape and can attract over 100,000 devotees to major festivals. It is controversial in that rather like American evangelic religions the order preaches wealth is good and donating money to to the order is a good way to gain merit.

It also has a 24 hour global TV channel and uses the most up to date marketing methods to attract followers.

  1. Dome shaped Stupa in Wat Phra Dhammakaya has become the symbol of meditation since mass meditation prayers gathered here for meditation and praying.
